Learn about Bees, Wasps & Hornets
Insects such as bees, wasps and hornets are beneficial in many ways, but when they make their nests to close to where humans live or work, there is potential for conflict. Depending on the type of stinging insect and the number of stings, the symptoms of the sting can range from very mild to very painful and even deadly.
Bees, wasps, and hornets are beneficial because many assist us in the pollination of crops as well as the biological control of many other insect populations. But the fact that bees, wasps and hornets can administer painful stings when their nests are disturbed makes many people understandably very wary of their presence.
We would suggest that if a nest is located near your home, barn, stables, or where your pets or other animals are kept, it may pose a threat if it is accidentally disturbed and should be removed.
